My Story

I am thrilled to be participating in the 45th Great North Run, on Sunday 13 September, to raise funds for the Great Start in Life Foundation, which is part of HHCC. All funds raised will support children, young people and their families across the North and Yorkshire.

It has been a personal goal for me to complete a half marathon before I turn 45 years old. I have never taken part in any organised runs in the past and running for me is something that gives me great pleasure. 

As the footprint of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has expanded across the North of England and Yorkshire, the Great Start in Life Foundation will raise funds to enhance the Health Visitor and School Nursing 0-19 service that these children, young people and their families access, to ensure that our communities have a Great Start in Life.

Completing a half marathon will be a huge achievement for me and I am aware that this will not be easy. I have started training and I am fully committed to complete this with a good finishing time.
