My Story

Here's a little about me....

I really started running in 2014 where my ambition was to just to be able to run. I joined the Saturday morning park runs where i really wanted to run 5k without stopping. When i fell pregnant in 2015 i completed stopped and i only picked running back up again when lock down struck in 2020. In the beginning there was a lot of stop/starting and I also had a 5-year-old on a scooter or bike with me, so it was never always a complete run of 5km, but I was doing it. Gradually over the next 3 years I was running 5k but only in my spare time which wasn’t consistent just when I could get out and it was only ever 5k and I was happy. I even signed up to little monthly challenges just so I had something to aim for, and it was a challenge trying to fit runs in.

Then, in 2023, I broke my foot, so my running then came to a stop, I thought that was it after it healed as I attempted to get back out there and run but it was too painful and I thought it was all over. Then in July 2025 I downloaded the couch to 5k app and thought I’ll give it one last go and it worked. I was so pleased with the result smaller runs and walking tied in and there was no pain I was Buzzing!!! I completed the couch to 5k in 9 weeks I wasn’t at the 5k but I did it and my plan then was to run consistently each week and this is what I have done!

This year I turned 40 and I am challenging myself with running as i have found a whole new love for it. It has been a life long dream of mine to run the GNR and this year I am lucky enough and feel extremely privileged enough to fulfil this dream and, in the process, support an incredible cause The Dean Fox MND Foundation. Not only is this an incredible cause but i am running this for an inspirational friend and her family who lost a loved one to Motor Neurone Disease. The Dean Fox MND foundation was set up to raise awareness and to help support others that helped and supported them and they want to help other families that are going through a similar situation.

Family is everything to me and i'd be truly lost without mine so if i can help raise awareness and some money along the way for this incredible foundation doing something that I love it mean others can have that valuable family time together.

If you are able to help me help them and other families along the way i'd be incredibly grateful for any donation no matter how small.

Thank you for the support.
