My Story

After many years trying to get a place at the Great North Run I sort of stepped back trying.  Despite my roots being in the north east this Half Marathon has sat for too long in the background until now….

I run less miles at the moment so I will need to train hard to get back up to the half marathon distance and apprehensive re : announcing it in this lovely way but here we are…

A challenge I am looking forward to

I’m raising money for HHCC to enhance the Palliative / End of Life Care teams at HDFT.  My day to day role is as Marie Curie Volunteer Services Officer for End of Life Support Volunteers.  These volunteers are recruited and specially trained and supported by me and the team/s to provide emotional and practical support to patients in their last few hours days , weeks of life.  We support the patient, families , carers, and those most important to them .

I’ll do all I can to succeed in the run and thank all who sponsor me for your generosity and thought to donate.  Many many thanks.
