My Story
This year I’m running the Great North Run for the Alice Ruggles Trust 💙
I ran the Great North Run two years ago for another charity that will always mean a lot to me, but I knew if I ever did it again I wanted to run for a cause that I care deeply about personally.
For the past 18 months I’ve worked for the Alice Ruggles Trust and during that time I’ve learned so much about the reality of stalking and the devastating impact it can have on people’s lives. 2026 marks 10 years since Alice was murdered by her stalker at just 24 years old and helping continue her legacy through education, awareness and prevention feels incredibly important to me.
As a young woman myself, this cause hits close to home. Stalking is so often misunderstood or minimised when actually it is something that affects millions of people across the UK. 1 in 5 women and 1 in 11 men in England and Wales will experience stalking in their lifetime. That statistic is frightening
Every day I see how much effort goes into educating young people, workplaces and communities about stalking behaviours, warning signs and safety. So much of the Trust’s work is about helping people recognise concerning behaviour earlier and encouraging conversations that could genuinely save lives.
Running 13.1 miles feels very small compared to the importance of this cause, but I’m so proud to be doing it for the Trust this year.
Any donation or even just sharing this page would mean so much to me and helps support the incredible work the Alice Ruggles Trust continues to do. Thank you so much
