My Story
I'm lucky to be running the Great North Run this year in memory of two incredible women who shaped my life.
When I was 8 years old I lost my mam to cancer. My Nanna raised me, along with my sister and brother even though she had already raised 5 of her own children. Then last year my Nanna sadly lost her life to cancer. Their strength, love, and resilience continue to inspire me every single day.
This run is for them — every mile is a reminder of the battles they faced and the courage they showed.
I’m proud to be taking on this challenge in their honour, and I’ll be fundraising with all money going directly to the Cancer Services at the Queen Elizabeth hospital.
Cancer affects us all, so please give all you can. 💛
