My Story
This September, I'll be running my fourth Great North Run, this time in support of Arthritis UK.
Arthritis UK is a charity that's very close to my heart. My late Grandma suffered from arthritis for many years, and I saw firsthand the impact of the condition. Despite this, she never let it define her.
She firmly believed in the power of community and was an active member of the then Arthritis Care Gateshead Branch, where she played a big role in local fundraising efforts to support others living with the condition.
From a young age, I also had the privilege of helping with fundraising activities alongside her, which gave me an early appreciation of the difference that charities like this can make to people’s lives.
Since her passing in 2021, I’ve wanted to continue supporting the cause she cared so deeply about. Running the Great North Run for Arthritis UK is my way of honouring her memory while supporting a fantastic charity that helps so many people.
By sponsoring me, you’ll be helping to continue her legacy and support the millions of people across the UK living with arthritis.
Any support, no matter how big or small, would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any donation you are able to give.
