My Story

Every 3 minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia - it's the UK's leading cause of death. Finding out that our mum/nana had dementia hit hard, and feels even harder now that she is gone. Knowing that there is no cure, and that you're going have to watch the person that you love so much disappear a little bit more each day, is heartbreaking.

This can leave you with a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness, so we decided that we needed to be proactive, challenge ourselves, and raise vital funds all at the same time. In 2024, we raised over £1000 by running 6 races in 6 months - finishing off with The Great North Run.

But why stop at half marathons?

We'll be running the 2026 Brighton Marathon, a 26.2 mile route from city to coast past the iconic sites of Brighton and Hove. And don't worry - we'll still be running the Great North Run too.

So, we're doing the training and the running, but we need your help to support us and this fantastic cause. We thank you for whatever you can donate; it all makes a difference.
