My Story

I'm running the 2026 Great North Run in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer at the end of August 2025 (Gleason Grade 2) and I had been dealing with elevated PSA levels since March 2024 and first started accessing Prostate Cancer UK support in May 2024 just before my first biopsy.

It was only when I got my diagnosis in August 2025 that I really accessed PCUK services and it was their literature that made me aware that focal therapies were a possible alternative to Active Surveillance offered by the NHS.

I then had a focal therapy surgery at the end of November 2025 and the early signs are that the operation was a success but I won't know for sure until early 2027.

What  I do know for sure is that without PCUK support and information I would have not been aware of my other options  which I was able to discover as research in the days after my diagnosis.

My thanks will always be with them and that's why I'm doing this run as I want to ask for your donation and raise awareness of the great things they do so please dig deep if you can folks

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s someone’s dad, brother, partner, or mate. I'm running to raise money for lifesaving research and support for men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Prostate Cancer UK are committed to a world where men's lives are not limited by prostate cancer. Your donations can help make this possible.
