Emma
My Story
Why am "I" running? Is probably the best question anyone could ask me, half marathon running and Emma don't ordinarily trip off the toungue!!
But, when I was asked at a Christmas party if I was running, I said YES without thinking - why not! I remember when Josie's Dragonfly Trust first started, there was a small shop selling dragonfly gifts in Hexham, where I remember buying my daughter a necklace. Roll forward 15 years and it's become a superb national charity supporting young patients with terminal cancer. Their focus is on making memories, making moments matter with their loved ones. As a photographer, I totally relate to that ethos.
Running the GNR has always been something I thought I could never do, but I just realised that actually I can do it, I just need to say yes. So here goes nothing. I have my training schedule and my new running shoes and I'll try and keep updates. I have plenty of people to run with, am a member at my local gym, plus my friend Kate regularly runs 10ks and half marathons so I feel I have a good support network around me. Lets see what 2026 brings and lets hope I manage to get myself across that iconic Tyne Bridge!!!
