My Story

The first time we ever spoke with the QE Dave turned to me and he said, “ I think I’ve learnt and understood more from that chat than I have from our previous 2 rounds of IVF”.

We had made the move to the QE for a number of reasons, one of which being numerous recommendations from others who had been through similar circumstances.

From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted by the most incredible team of people. I include in this everyone; from the reception team to the doctors and nurses, from the pharmacists in the main building to the embryologists- every single person along the way was so supportive.

My partner laughs that I only absorb emotions and that I don’t take any information on board, but I knew that if we were going to try again I needed to feel as mentally strong as possible and the QE instantly made me feel I could could survive another round. The feeling of warmth and compassion that oozed out of every member of the team was enough to reenergise my beaten mentality and get me in a place to start again.

In 2019 thanks to the team we fell pregnant with our first son Ted and after a nervous pregnancy and giving birth mid lockdown, the QE were one of the first people I wanted to tell. The news was again greeted with such genuine joy from their end and I will never be able to thank them enough. Alongside Ted we were fortunate enough to achieve 3 frozen embryos and so after returning in 2022 I am now lucky enough to be sat here with 2 gorgeous boys, all due to their care and expertise.

Whenever anyone asks me about the QE I find myself getting emotional, as I honestly just feel like it is a magical place.

We will be forever grateful to them, not only for Ted and Angus, but also for the kindness they showed us throughout.
