My Story

In June 2026, my father, Wallace, sadly passed away surrounded by his family.

In the precious days beforehand, he was cared for at the St Bede's Palliative Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, part of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. During an incredibly difficult time, the staff provided not only outstanding care for my dad but also compassion, kindness, and support for our whole family. We will always be grateful for the comfort and dignity they gave him.

In memory of my father — our family's, and many others', superhero — I will be taking on the Great North Run dressed as Batman to raise money for St Bede's. By supporting this fundraiser, you'll be helping the unit continue providing the exceptional care and support that means so much to patients and their families when they need it most.

Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping me honour my dad's memory and support this wonderful cause.
