Healthworks Useful Vision

Healthworks Useful Vision is a North East wide service supporting blind and visually impaired children and young people, and their families, to live confident, connected and fulfilling lives.

Through fun, inclusive activities and family events, Healthworks Useful Vision helps children build independence, make friends and feel empowered.

That’s why our team of fundraisers and runners is coming together to take on the Great North Run.

We’re running as a team to raise funds that help Healthworks Useful Vision continue delivering accessible, confidence‑building opportunities to children who face additional barriers every day.

From imaginative activity days to relaxed family events and skills workshops, Healthworks Useful Vision creates spaces where children can thrive, feel included and simply enjoy being kids.

In January 2025, Useful Vision became part of Healthworks, an award‑winning community health and wellbeing charity. This partnership strengthens and protects the service for the future, allowing it to reach more families across the region and build on decades of trusted, specialist support.

As a team, every mile we run represents:

  • more confidence for visually impaired children
  • more opportunities to learn, connect and grow
  • and stronger support for families across the North East

By supporting our fundraising, you’re not just backing a group of runners - you’re helping to power a service that makes a real, lasting difference to children and families who need it most.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting Healthworks Useful Vision.
